ImpENSA
Capacity Building to Improve Early Nutrition and Health in South Africa

ImpENSA Training Programme

The main focus of the ImpENSA Training Programme is the micronutrient nutrition during the first 1000 days of life and to encourage continued professional development. The training programme consists of two open access e-learning modules which will be offerred online on the ENeA e-learning platform (Regional Focus on South Africa) and two virtual training modules of Healthy Conversation Skills to support behaviour change and Train-the-Coordinator Mentoring Programme. The knowledge and skills transferred will contribute to improved health, growth and development during this important period.

These courses are based on the latest scientific evidence, and include interactive elements, graphics, videos and case scenarios to enhance your learning experience.

ENeA Southeast Asia

Early Nutrition eAcademy Southeast Asia (ENeA SEA) eLearning course for healthcare professionals in the Southeast Asia region has over 3000 registered online users!
Thai & Malay Modules Translation


Good news for healthcare professionals in Southeast Asia! 
The e-learning modules of ENeA SEA are now available in Thai and Malay for local online users.

With great effort from our Thai and Malaysian partners, in collaboration with local health authorities in both countries, we have launched four modules in Malay including Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Breast Milk Substitutes, and Complementary Feeding; and the modules of Pregnancy and Breast Milk Substitutes in Thai. Other modules in Thai version are in progress.

Upcoming Projects

CD Skills
The project CD Skills is addressing existing challenges of healthcare sector in celiac disease (CD) management in the Danube region. Project activities will raise the awareness, improve knowledge, skills and competences of all the stakeholders involved in CD management, effectively improving the capacity of healthcare and social service. This project capitalizes on projects Focus IN CD and LQ-CELIAC.

EATS Indonesia  
Education and Training of Healtcare Personnel for Sustainable Early Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases in Indonesia
 
Early in 2021, we were honoured to receive the news that our EATS Indonesia project was selected to be funded by the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation (EKFS), under the humanitarian funding category in its effort to improve healthcare in Indonesia. ENeA at LMU is collaborating with six renowned Indonesian institutions to develop and implement effective and sustainable strategies to train healthcare professionals in order to reduce early nutrition- and lifestyle-related health problems.

Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)

The Nutrition & Lifestyle in Pregnancy course presented by LMU on Coursera offers an overview of the latest research findings and international recommendations on a variety of nutrition-related aspects and outcomes of pregnancy. Ensuring a healthy nutritional status and lifestyle prior to and during pregnancy is one of the best ways to help support the healthy growth and development of the unborn child. This course introduces the learner to the importance of pre-conception health for improving maternal and infant outcomes as well as the most important nutrition and lifestyle recommendations for a healthy pregnancy.

LifeCycle Project

Two new open access modules are in development! These are being prepared by experts in the context of the EU funded LifeCycle Project and embedded in our ENeA Global e-learning platform. The two modules are:
  • Epidemiology: the importance of study types and confounding
  • Early Life Exposures in Later Health
